Included in this very first edition: a meditation on the year 1984 through music (with accompanying playlist) by Chicago-based Kameryn Alexa Carter, founder of Emergent Literary; a poignant ode to falling asleep at the movies by Seattle-based writer Cody Walker; and Philadelphia-based writers Eleanor Linafelt and Colin Powers’ experiences with strange coincidences and a fraught stint as a food delivery driver, respectively.

Each piece contains a hand-drawn border illustration designed specially for it. Copies come with a fancy risograph insert printed by our friends at Who Press’d Press — this gorgeous print is by the magazine’s illustrator Jeb Parke and it goes well with a vase of flowers and a touch of warm lighting.
