In January 2020, an exhibition dedicated to Nicole Claveloux was held as part of the Angoulême Comic Strip Festival — during this event, the author was awarded an honorary Fauve for her entire work. career and Fauve Patrimoine for the new edition of “La main verte”. This exhibition was an opportunity for many visitors to rediscover the work of this exceptional artist born in Saint-Étienne in 1940. The display presented more than a hundred original plates and paintings, thus testifying to the richness and the diversity of the work of this prodigious designer. "Les chemins de l'autre" aims to bring together, in around sixty pages, a sample of the works visible during this exhibition in order to allow the public who would not have had the chance to attend this retrospective to better understand the scope of Nicole Claveloux's talent. Printed on coated paper, this “catalogue” was made entirely from the artist’s originals in order to offer a faithful reproduction. The majority of the works presented there are today impossible to find or visible anywhere else. “The paths of the strange” offers a condensed panorama of the abundant career of Nicole Claveloux, which spans the fields of illustration, painting, comic strips and children’s books. The book is supplemented by a bibliography listing all of Nicole Claveloux's books published since 1968.
