Releasing March 18th, the record documents a living, breathing movement. One that is still unfolding. Red Xerox features early cuts from Horsegirl and Lifeguard, who are now pillars of the scene signed to Matador Records, alongside soon-to-be classics and previously unreleased tracks from Friko, Post Office Winter, Dwaal Troupe, Sharp Pins, Current Union TM, TV Buddha, P. Noid, Amaya Pena, Free Range, and Uniflora. Each copy includes a handmade 24-page zine chronicling Hallogallo from 2019 to the present, transforming tape machine fantasies and typewriter communism into history. From pop perfectionism, to noise rock wonders, from Ecuadorian inspired folk songs to no-wave psychedelia, the compilation presents the full breadth of Hallogallo's musical diversity. One standout track is Lifeguard's "Crate," an unreleased 6 minute live track which takes listeners through a whirl of sound rhythm and an interpolation of the Stone Roses' "I Wanna Be Adored." "Crate," will be released as a single on February 18th, backed with “Baby, Woah!" By TV Buddha recorded at double speed and produced by Kellen Baker of Good Flying Birds.

The compilation marks the inaugural release from Desert Island Recordings, a new imprint launched by Brooklyn's iconic indie comic and zine shop, Desert Island.

For Fans of: Good Flying Birds, Yo La Tengo, The Clean, Jessica Pratt, This is Lorelei, Olivia Tremor Control, Beat Happening

Debris Bardot - Where Glimpsed Before

Chronophage - Terrorize (Epicurean Fantasy)

Suburban Speed - Jesus Leash

Van Goth - Eau d’Bedroom Dancing

Side B

CS Cleaners - G+T

The Tourniquet - Shirley Wright

Model Minority - Somersault

Badger Hunt - Bullet/Always Been This Way

Bullseye - Blue Eyes Blue

Zine Cover by James Tonra

Zine design by Shanon McMahon

Cover photo by Kate Vitali

RED XEROX LP + ZINE

"A lot could have gone differently.
